Indian American New Year’s Competition Pow Wow & Indian Craft Market

I called to check, and many of the Indians have already arrived in Tucson, and so the pow wow will go on even if it rains. And they do have a building there, so you can step inside to escape the rain now and then. Remember that the schedule on the website might be off a mite. Owing to the weather, some events might be postponed a little. Nonetheless, you can expect dancers from allover the nation (about 50 tribes will be represented.) You will be treated to a variety of dancing, drumming competitions, great Indian food, and an area for children’s activities.
The gentleman on the phone assured me that Friday’s midnight friendship round dance will be held regardless of weather. And, by the way, that particular event is free and certainly open to the public. What a terrific way to welcome 2011, right? Come to the Pow Wow!
