Opa! The 2011 Saint Demetrios Greek Festival is here, and it looks like great fun again this year. I checked out the schedule and saw cooking demos (Athenian Chicken, Creamy Greek Lasagna, Dolmades and MUCH more), live music, dance performances, dancing workshops, and some cool looking lectures. I haven’t even begun to tap the schedule, so check it out for yourself. The Greek Festival runs from Thursday – Sunday this week.
A couple of bargains: Here is info about free admission to the Tucson Greek Festival, 2011 on Thursday and Sunday. And also, seniors (60+) get in free Saturday afternoon between 3 PM and 5 PM. Active duty military always free entrance.
Shuttle Service Schedule:
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Free Parking and Shuttle From Amphi Plaza Parking Lot (1st Ave & Ft. Lowell)
Saturday Only: From Salpointe Catholic High School Stadium (1 block south of Glenn on Mountain)
Where: Hellenic Center at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1145 E. Fort Lowell Road Tucson, AZ 85719 (520) 888-0505 (Ft. Lowell between Mountain Ave. and 1st Ave.)
When: Coupon good Thursday, September 22, 2011 and Sunday, September 26, 2011. Festival hours:
- Thursday, September 22, 2011, from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.:
- Friday, September 23, 2011, from 5:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.:
- Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.:
- Sunday, September 25, 2011, from 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
How much: $3. Kids under 12 get in free, as do active duty military with ID. You can also buy a four day pass for $5. On Saturday, seniors (60+) get free admission from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
