Fire Station Open House

I chatted with the very nice lady who answers the phone, and she filled me in on the inside scoop. There will be a safety trailer on site where the kids can learn all about smoke and how to escape the house in the event of fire. Honestly, it sounds cool—the instructor fills the trailer with SAFE white smoke and teaches the kids how to find the door or window and crawl out. Kids have a blast.
IF at all possible (and sometimes it isn’t possible, so don’t promise anything to anyone special), young visitors get to squirt the fire hose. They can also climb into a fire engine and sit in the driver’s seat.
My friend at the fire station suggests that the open house should keep everyone entertained and happy for about an hour or so.
