Free Birding Walks
Posted on | November 18, 2009 | No Comments
I LOVE the birding walks put on by the Tucson Audubon Society, partly because they are free but more importantly because everyone who goes on a birding trip is really nice and very helpful–even to beginning birders (actually, I think they LOVE teaching a beginner to bird). Anyway, on Saturdays, from now through April, 2010 (weather permitting) you can learn about birds down at Arivaca Cienega. The trail is about 2 miles (very level). Wear sturdy shoes and remember to bring water and binoculars.
Where: Arivaca Cienaga, Arivaca, AZ Directions: Leave I-19 at exit 48 (the Amado exit), drive Southwest 18 miles on the Arivaca Road, watch for the Refuge Trailhead on your left about 1/2 mile before the town of Arivaca. (520) 399-2873 for more info.
When: Saturday November 21, 2009 8:00 a.m.
How much: Free
