7 Tucson Sports Bars (Where to Watch Football/Baseball/Basketball)

Here’s a list of 7 big sports bars in Tucson. There are lots of places to watch football/basketball/baseball in Tucson. I tried to cover the major areas of Tucson, so you can choose a watering hole near you.
The Depot Sports Bar & Grill, 3501 E. Fort Lowell Tucson, AZ 85716 (520) 795-8110. Carries major sports TV packages (MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA, MMM, Big 10 Network). Offers 10 46″ plasmas and 10 61″ big screens. There are a total of 26 TVs, ranging in size from 42″ to 61″. Offers beer specials that vary from week to week. Appetizers, burgers, sandwiches etc. Free WiFi. Free XBOX and Wii (bring your own games and controllers). Open 7 days/week. Saturday/Sunday open 9:30 AM – 2:00 AM; Monday-Friday, open 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM
Rusty’s Family Restaurant & Grille, 2075 W. Grant Tucson, AZ 85745 (520) 623-3363. Carries major sports packages (MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA). Over 50 big TVs and individual booth TVs (hooked up to major sports channels). Has daily drink specials. Open daily. Opens daily at 11:00 AM. Closing time varies. Check website.
Putney’s Sports Saloon, 6090 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson AZ 85704 (520) 575-1767. Has many major sports stations (MLB, NFL, Big 10, ESPN–doesn’t have NBA). Has a total of about 40 TVs. Six of those are big screen; others are in booths. Lots of drink specials, especially at happy hour, between 3:00 PM and 7:00 M. Reverse happy hour between 10:00 PM and midnight. Open 7 days/week, from about 10:00 AM -2:00 AM.
Skybox Restaurant & Sports Bar, 5605 E. River Rd. Tucson, AZ 85750 (Northeast corner of River Rd. & Craycroft). Lots of sports TV packages (NBA, NFL, ESPN Game Plan). All High-def TVs. Can get all cable and satellite games. Has about 17 TVs, three are 9′ High-def projector TVs; many 60″ TVs and some 42″ TVs. Offers happy hour/beer deals all day Sundays. On Mondays, happy hour is until 7:00 PM (Reverse happy hour on Mondays, from 9:00 PM – midnight) Open 7 days/week. On Saturday & Sunday, they open 1/2 hour before earliest game (9:30 AM or sometimes 10:30 AM).
Mulligan’s Sports Grill, 9403 E Golf Links Rd Tucson, AZ 85730 (520) 733-5661. This Tucson sports bar has NLB, NFL Ticket, all college football games. 6 large TVs inside (maybe 50″) and one TV outside. Has a variety of specials, including a Sunday breakfast buffet, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. $3 bloody Marys on Sundays. Open 7 days/week. On weekdays, they are open from 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM. On Saturdays and Sundays they are open from about 9:00 AM – 2:00 AM.
Game On Sports Grille, 6453 N. Oracle Rd. Tucson, AZ 85704 (520) 797-1233. Offers NFL and DirectTV. Has about 19 TVs, and the largest of those are probably 42″ (give or take). Lots of specials: You can choose from 5 menu items and pay only $5 each. Also frequent beer specials, starting at $2. And $.50 wings all day, every day.
World Sports Grille, Foothills Mall, 2290 W. Ina Rd.Tucson, Az 85741 (520) 229-0011. Wow! This one has variety of TV packages. Everything on Direct TV and NFL Ticket, NBA, ESPN games, college games. As of this writing, they are in the process of getting Comcast TV package. They have about 30 TVs–several 103″ flat screen plasma TVs. They offer $2 beer pint specials, $3 aluminum specials, and a variety of food specials. The manager is proud of his happy hour, which runs Monday-Friday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Reverse happy hour runs from 11:00 PM -2:00 AM. Bargains on draft beers, house wines, margaritas, and well drinks. Also, 1/2 price most apps. This is a family-friendly place. They have a video game area, so the kids can play all the games they want for $17 per 2 hours, while Mom and Dad have a beer and watch the game.
