Five Guys Burgers serves several styles of burger, with the most expensive ringing in at $5.99 (Bacon cheeseburger). We’ve visited the one on N. Campbell and enjoyed our lunch. Mr. Tightwad ordered a regular
hamburger ($4.59), and I tried the Little Hamburger ($3.59). Honestly, the little burger was plenty big enough, and Mr. Tightwad had trouble finishing the larger one. We also ordered a regular sized fries ($2.89), and it was more than sufficient for two, although I didn’t eat more than a couple–I don’t care for fat fries.
All toppings are free, so you save a bit there. And they serve hot dogs, too.
One thing I liked were the peanut bins. If there is a line, you can dip into the peanuts while waiting. I am a sucker for peanuts.
The Campbell location is bright inside with music that was a little loud for my tastes. Other than that, the decor was pleasant but plain. We both enjoyed our burgers. The total tab for two was $16 and included small drinks with our burgers and fries. I’d call it good, plentiful, reasonably cheap food.
Tip: To avoid the long wait, I’d strongly suggest phoning or faxing your order over if you plan to go.
