A Bargain-Hunter's Guide to Inexpensive Fun in Tucson

La Indita

The Cheap Chick and I ran a post some time ago about cheap (but good) Mexican restaurants. Several readers wrote in to suggest other good Mexican restaurants, so we’ll be posting about those reader tips over time.

First up is La Indita, a 4th Avenue restaurant that serves terrific food at terrific prices. They prepare a delightful combination of Mexican & Tarascan Indian food, so it isn’t quite the same as other Tucson Mexican restaurants. My bill came to $10 and included a beef taco, beans, a soft drink, and the tip. In fairness, I need to report that I ordered a small plate. Other entrees were a little higher, but I saw nothing on the menu over $10.

I went with a group of friends I met on Twitter, and every single person loved the food–BIG hit. The chicken mole looked (and tasted) scrumptious.

FYI, La Indita offers many vegetarian options.

Where: La Indita, 622 N. 4th Ave., Tucson 85705 (520) 792-0523.

When: Closed Saturdays. Mon. – Fri. 11:00 AM-9:00 PM; Sun. 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM.

How much: Entrees under $10.

Looking for other cheap (but good) Tucson Mexican restaurants? Go right here. Or perhaps right here.

And if you happen to be in the Marana area and are looking for a fine Mexican meal, check this out.
