Posted on | November 17, 2009 | No Comments
Did you know that here in Tucson adults can get free eye exams? Isn’t that cool? Now, to be clear, this screening is for eye disease and not for glasses, but eye health is vital as you probably know. The UPH Department of Ophthalmology provides free adult healthy eye exams on several dates in the near future.
Who should go? People at greatest risk for glaucoma are over age 50, have a family history of glaucoma, are of African or Hispanic descent, have diabetes, high blood pressure, had an eye injury or surgery and/or take steroid medication. Btw, this is for people 18 and over.
You DO need an appointment. Call Jill to schedule (520) 694-1471. She will tell you the place of the exams. Here are the dates for the next screenings:
Wednesday, November 18, 2009 appointments made from 1:30pm-5:00pm
Saturday, November 21, 2009 appointments made from 8:00am-noon
Wednesday, December 2, 2009 appointments made from 1:30pm-5:00pm
Saturday, January 16, 2010 appointments made from 8:00am-noon
Note: They’ve offered these free eye screenings for many years, but look folks, nobody can be sure of the future. So . . . if you need an eye exam, make an appointment and go now, ok?
