Many thanks to Juliet F. for sending along a boatload of cool deals for all of us. First up is a list of cheap ways to enjoy the Arizona State Fair, which opens on Friday, October 16, 2009. Yes, it’s up in Phoenix, but I adore the Arizona State Fair. I mean, I truly love state fairs. Why not take the family up this weekend?????

Pre-Fair deals: Buy an Arizona State Fair ticket online before midnight October 15, 2009 and pay just $6 for adults and $3 for kids and seniors. Or subscribe to the Arizona State Fair newsletter before midnight October 15, 2009 and adults get in for $5; kids and seniors pay $2.50. (You’ll get a promo code when you sign up–use it.) Note that regular adult fair admission is $10, so these are nice deals.

Note that regular ride prices are listed at the end of the post. Sorry for the loooooong post.

Other ways to save during the fair:

On opening day–Friday, October 16, 2009– you can get in for $1 before 7:00 PM.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays (October 20, 22, 27, & 29 and November 3 and 5, 2009) you can get free admission to the fair if you arrive between noon and 1:00 PM.

On Wednesdays, you can get in free from noon to 6:00 PM if you donate one of the following items:

-          new white adult-sized t-shirts
-          new adult-sized underwear

Note that on Wednesdays (October 21, 28 and November 4, 2009) rides and games are $1. Buy your ride and game cards at Midway Ticket booths and they will be honored until closing. Extreme rides, gravity storm, and rock walls are not included).

Fridays (October 23, 30 and November 6, 2009) bring Happy Hour deals from noon to 6:00 PM. You get half price admission, $1 rides and $1 games, and $1 food items.

On Friday, October 30, 2009 from noon to 10:00 PM, all military personnel, veterans, and their dependents get in free. Take your military ID to the Encanto Admission Gate at the Northeast corner of the fairgrounds.

And . . . a BOGO from Lowe’s: Every Saturday, from 10am -6pm you can take a Lowe’s receipt to the fair and receive one FREE Fair admission when you buy one regular-price admission of equal or lesser value.

Regular Ride Prices/Credits (taken directly from the web site):

Ray Cammack Shows (RCS) Fun Pass:

All ride e-tickets will go on one pass.
*$20 Fun Pass = 40 ride e-tickets
*$50 Fun Pass = 100 ride e-tickets
*$100 Fun Pass – 200 ride e-tickets

A note about “e-tickets”:
We are using a new bar code system for rides this year, instead of the traditional hard tickets of years past. “E-tickets” work just like the previous system, except they are placed onto one credit card-sized, bar-coded card, and scanned each time you ride a ride.

As an example, if you purchase a $20 Fun Pass online, which equals 40 ride e-tickets, you will print your purchase at the end of the e-commerce process, and bring that to a Fair Midway Ticket Booth. At the booth, they will give you a credit card-sized, bar coded card “loaded” with 40 e-tickets. Then, you take this card to the rides or games you wish to use. Each ride or game requires a certain number of “tickets”. The operators will scan your card at the ride or game. The required ticket amount will be deducted from your e-ticket card balance. So if you had 40 e-tickets on your card, and you chose to ride a 6-ticket ride, your remaining balance would be 34.

We post deals as we find them. But you know the drill: prices and promotions are subject to change at any time and without notice. Sometimes the information we receive isn't acccurate, although we try to check every deal. And sometimes we make mistakes. It's up to you to check. It is always wise to call first to see if a bargain is still available.
