Grand Opening of Tucson’s Composting Toilet

You knew I wouldn’t pass this one up, now didn’t you? Yes, I am proud to announce the grand opening of the first commercial  composting toilet in an urban area in Pima County. The event is put on by the Tucson Audubon Society. Why don’t you . . . uh . . . go on Saturday to celebrate! There will be light refreshments, music, and information on sustainable design practice! Oh, boy!

In addition to the grand toilet opening here is a schedule of Saturday’s program:

10:00 am- “Getting from Here to There: The Who, What, Where and Why of Wildlife Linkages” with Janice Przybyl, Sky Island Alliance Wild Linkages Program Director
11:00 am- “Studies of Bobcats in Urban Environments” with Jessica Lamberton, Sky Island Alliance Wilderness Outreach Associate.

  • Where: Tucson Audubon Mason Center, 3835 W. Hardy Road Tucson, AZ (SW corner of Hardy & Thornydale)
  • When: Saturday January 30, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • How much: Free.
