Music on the Mountain

LAVA Music has a terrific “Music on the Mountain” entertainment series up in Summerhaven that features a different band every Sunday afternoon. This week, The String Figures will entertain from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Mark Holiday’s Band opens the show at noon, so get there early!
If you haven’t been to Music on the Mountain in a while, they now have a brand new tent–much bigger than the one they used for the first two concerts, so there’ s room in the shade! Feel free to bring a comfy lawn chair. There are some chairs, but you’re certain to get a seat if you take one along yourself.
A note or two: there are lovely, clean restrooms in back of the community center. Also, La Indita sells food up there and there are also brats and cokes available for sale.

Important tip: Parking might be a bit of a problem, so pack in lots of people in your car. There IS a parking lot about 2 driveways beyond the outdoor venue. So . . . as you enter Summerhaven, turn left. Pass the Mt. Lemmon Realty, pass the community center and go down a couple of driveways on the right. But the very best tip I can give is to show up early. (Maybe have b’fast at the Cookie Cabin–they now serve b’fast on Saturday & Sunday.)
Where: Summerhaven Outdoor Venue, 12901 N. Sabino Canyon Parkway, just beyond the community center.
When: Sunday, July 5, 2009. Noon to about 5:00 PM.
How much: FREE.
