Tucson Children’s Museum is a great place to take your kids with many different activities being offered. The museum is geared toward kids 10 years old and younger. Some of the current exhibits include Dinosaur World, Ocean Discovery Center, the Enchanted Rainforest and Whistle Stop Gallery. Exhibits change frequently, so check the website. Best for kids under ten years of age.
When: Tues. – Fri. 9:00am-5:00pm, Sat-Sun 10:00am-5:00pm (Note that hours sometimes vary by season.)

Cost: Kids under 2 Free, Children 2-18 $6, Adults $8, Seniors $6, Every first Sunday is $2 admission day.
The International Wildlife Museum, founded in 1988, the museum highlights over 400 species of insects, mammals and birds from around the globe. The museum is a great place to spend an afternoon, being able to see static displays of animals you may never find in a zoo.
When: M-F 9:00am – 5:00pm; Sat-Sun. 9:00am – 6:00pm

Cost: Adults $8, Seniors (62+) and Military $6, Children 4-12 $3, Kids 3 and under Free
Create Cafe This is a wonderful restaurant that is very kid friendly. There are plenty of board games, as well as toys, cars, etc. for the pre-schoolers to play with on the patio. On Saturday evenings, 5:00pm – 9:00pm with food and drink specials.

Pima County Library Storytimes, Stories read toddlers for 30-40 minutes at various Pima County libraries. Check the Pima County Library website for locations.

Dinosaur Discovery Center is an indoor children’s has many hands-on activities for kids to explore, play and create. There are many touchable exhibits.

Cost: $5 for ages 3 and up, children 2 and under are free
Reel Mom Wednesdays at Tower Theaters – Enjoy the most recent movies at Tower Theaters in a small child/baby friendly environment that features no shushing, brighter lights, and lower volumes. Stroller parking is available.

Gadsen Pacific Toy Train Museum, only open two Sundays a month. See some very elaborate toy trains.
When: Second and Fourth Sundays of the Month 12:30pm – 4:30pm (closed July/August)

Storybook Character WALK Hour at the U of A Bookstore –A free storytime and craft, one time a month, with a meet the character on the first Saturday of the month.

Gymnastics World Central has an open gym on Tuesdays for chldren 3-5.

Additional thought: One of my favorite websites in Tucson is called Kids520. The owner keeps an active and current list of activities and entertainment for the family. Highly recommended.
