Agua Linda Farm Fall Festival

October weekends means family fun at Agua Linda Farms, just south of Tucson. Yes, it’s time for the Agua Linda Farm Fall Festival. Basically, the Agua Linda Farm is an organic vegetable farm–but there’s quite a history to the place. The hacienda was designed by Josias Joesler. Over the years, Elizabeth Taylor, John Wayne, Gene Kelly, & Robert Wagner have all visited.

On the weekend of Saturday, October 3, 2009 and Sunday, October 4, 2009, admission is free!

At the fall festival, there will be rides, a pumpkin patch, a maze, a petting zoo, hayrides, you-pick-’em veggies, farm-raised burger meat, pumpkin pie and lots more. Admission includes a hayride, the maze, and the petting zoo. Pony rides, items from the store, and concession stand foods are extra.

Where: Agua Linda Farms, 2643 E. Frontage Rd., Amado, AZ 85645. (520) 398-3218. Directions: Interstate 19 to the Agua Linda Road Exit #42. Take the East Frontage Road south. This will turn into a dirt road almost immediately. This is our driveway! *Do not use Map Quest – directions are wrong!

When: Weekends in October, 2009. Saturday hours are 10:00 AM -5:00 PM, and Sunday hours are 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Note that on Fridays, October 16, 23, and 30, 2009, the festival will begin at 5:00 PM and end around 8:00 PM. On those Friday nights, a movie (“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”) will be shown in the pumpkin patch just after dark. On other October Fridays, the festival will not be open.

How much:Usually $7/car, but free entrance on Saturday, October 3, 2009 and Sunday, October 4, 2009. Please try to have exact change.
