Beach Party–First Thursday Art Walk

Beaches in Tucson? Well, not exactly, but the theme of this month’s First Thursday Art Walk is “Hot Nights Beach Party,” so don your wild Hawaiian shirts, shorts and flip flops and head down to Main Gate Square.

Over 30 local artists plan to show their amazing works of art. You will also hear GREAT music by The Retro Rockets and Nightlife Tucson, starring DJ Kidd Kutz. Frog & Firkin (874 E. University) will offer live music.

You can add your artisitic talents to a Public Participation mural, and kids will find something to do at Kid’s Corner. The First Thursday Art Walk is a very family friendly event.

Limber up with a FREE yoga class at Aveda Institute (845 N. Park) from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

For those who like to quaff, Auld Dubliner (800 E. University) will be holding a beer tasting. Vila Thai Cuisine (972 E. University) will offer a wine tasting for $5.

Where: Main Gate Square, 800 to 900 E. University Blvd., Tucson 85719 (between Park & Euclid on University Blvd., and between 2nd & 4th on Park Ave.)

When: Thursday, June 4, 2009. 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

How much: Free admission. What you buy is up to you.
