Chance to Help the Pronghorn and Stay Cool
Posted on | August 3, 2009 | No Comments
The Arizona Antelope Foundation and the Arizona Wildlife Federation plan a restoration project to improve antelope habitat near Lower Lake Mary, southeast of Flagstaff. The event will be held August 8 & 9, 2009, and the primary activity is removing fencing that has fallen to the ground. Studies show that open meadows improve the health of the Anderson Mesa pronghorn herd.
Weather should be a lot cooler up there near Flagstaff–maybe in the 80s. The kids are welcome.
Volunteers need to dress appropriately, bring work gloves and wire cutters, a sack lunch, snacks, water, and camping gear.
For your hard work, you will receive a steak dinner on Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning.
Registration is encouraged. Contact Scott Anderson of the AAF at (480) 213-1611 or info@azantelope.org.
